How to Choose EPE Corner Protectors for Furniture and Aluminum Profiles

Edges and corners are among the most vulnerable parts of furniture, aluminum profiles and other long or finished products. Repeated handling, stacking pressure and vibration during transport can leave dents, scuffs or coating damage. EPE foam corner protectors provide a lightweight cushioning layer without scratching the product surface.

L-shaped protectors cover standard 90-degree corners and are a practical choice for cabinet panels, furniture and square metal profiles. U-shaped protectors wrap around three sides of an edge, giving a more secure fit for long frames, narrow boards and thin-wall aluminum sections. V-shaped protectors use an internal groove to follow narrow or irregular edges where a standard right-angle piece may leave part of the surface exposed.

The appropriate profile depends on the product geometry, surface finish and transport conditions. Short-distance factory handling may only need a standard foam thickness, while long-distance shipments and repeated sorting usually benefit from a thicker structure. Painted furniture and polished aluminum surfaces should use fine, consistent foam that cushions without creating visible pressure marks.

For batch packaging, dimensions should be matched to the actual edge width and corner angle. A better fit helps the protector stay in place and makes packing more consistent. Hongsen can develop EPE profiles from product dimensions, drawings or samples and can adjust the shape and material combination around the application.

When requesting a recommendation, share the product dimensions, edge shape, surface type, packing method and expected transport conditions. These details help determine whether an L-, U- or V-shaped profile is the most practical option.
